Our Funding
Nearly 80% of Brighter Futures funding comes from the state "Help Me Grow"
program through the Montgomery County Family and Children First Council.

A Brighter Future for the Community
Unplanned births to very young, unskilled parents are a significant
cost to the community now and in the future. But the seemingly endless
cycle of pregnancy, poverty and dependence on public assistance can be
broken. Visiting nurse programs like Brighter Futures have been shown to
dramatically improve lives and reduce dependence on welfare. In fact, a
recent study by the RAND Corporation showed a $4 saving for every $1
invested in visiting nurse programs.
Today, nearly three-quarters of all Brighter Futures currently active
mothers and mothers-to-be are either in school or working. And that adds
up to a brighter future for everyone!
