Support Brighter Futures

From the Director...
Thanks to the support of our many friends and donors, this past year
was one of important achievements and growth. Our 19 specially-trained
nurses worked closely with more than 700 young mothers and their families,
changing not only the parents’ lives but brightening the future of more
than 700 children in our community.
Over the months and years of providing services to young parents, our
nurses become far more than traditional caregivers. Not surprisingly, they
build strong, personal relationships with their clients and families,
becoming advocates, role models, mentors and friends. That unique bond
between parent, child and caregiver is what makes our program special.
Through their efforts and those of our Brighter Futures staff, we’ve made
remarkable progress in recent years. However, the need for our services
today is greater than ever before. Each year there are more than 800 teen
births in Montgomery County, yet we can serve only about 230 new clients.
Many of those young mothers face their pregnancy alone, with little or no
support. Without help, these young mothers and their children face a dim
future indeed.
Due to our reduced state funding, we must look to our community for
support. Please consider helping to brighten the future for young parents
and their children in our community by supporting Brighter Futures today.
Thank you very much,
Pam Albers
